The show starred Billy Bob Thornton and Martin Freeman alongside Bob Odenkirk. Tolman was recognized for her performance as Minnesota the Police officer Molly Solverson. Vanity Fair stated that Tolman "calmly and assuredly stole" the film. Critics' Choice Television Award, Best Supporting Actress (Movie/Miniseries) and Golden Globe nominated were announced for Tolman's role. Tolman was cast in an episode of guest-starring in the role of romance novelist Abby Berman on The Mindy Show the following year. In 2015, her second role was in Michael Dougherty's film, horror-film Krampus. Tolman's breakthrough role in the film as Fargo caused her to drop numerous supporting roles, including mother roles as well as best friend and wife.
